Andrew Schwartz was born in 1987 in New York City and grew up in Rochester, NY. He received a BFA with concentrations in painting and sculpture from Cornell University in 2010 and an MFA in painting from the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University in 2016. Recent exhibition venues include D.D.D.D. (New York, NY) and The Weather Station (Lafayette, IN). Schwartz has shown his work at Deanna Evans Projects (New York, NY); Morgan Lehman Gallery (New York, NY); Massey Klein Gallery (New York, NY); Geoffrey Young Gallery (Great Barrington, MA); Fashion Institute of Technology Art and Design Gallery (New York, NY); and NARS Foundation (Brooklyn, NY); among others. His paintings have been discussed on Yale University Radio with Praxis Interview Magazine. He has lectured at institutions including Cornell University, Pratt Institute, Fordham University, and Purdue University. Schwartz is the recipient of an NES Artist Residency in Skagaströnd, Iceland, and was a Summer Artist in Residence at the Children’s Museum of Manhattan. The artist lives and works in New York City.
